The given graph describes how many Southeast Asia citizens live in the urban areas from the early days to the future.
Overall
, the citizens’ interest in living in downtown areas has increased and the trend will not stop in the meantime. In the 1970s, citizens in southeast Asia who lived in urban areas were below 50% of the general.
Nonetheless
, the percentages climbed in 1980 but the majority was still below 50%. The first country within the range that reached 50% of the portion was the Philippines, followed by Malaysia.
However
, there was a slight decrease in the number of people who live in the downtown of the Philippines.
On the other hand
, the only country in 2000 that had more than half of its people living in the central region was Malaysia. By the end of 2010, the majority of the population was gathered in the city, except for Thailand. The increasing tendency continues and will not stop in the meantime or in the coming years.
Nevertheless
, Thailand was a country in 2020 that kept the number steady. Even so, the prediction states that the citizens’ interest in staying in populated sectors will remain improving until 2040.

, more than half of all countries in those regions will live in the downtown.
