The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.
The first pie chart displays the percentage of average energy usage in Australian houses. The second chart provides information about the greenhouse gas
emissions
from different categories.
It is clear that
the majority of energy consumption was from heating and water
heating. Moreover
, the lowest percentage was found in cooling, which also
has the lowest level of greenhouse gas emissions
. In contrast
, water
heating was the major factor contributing to an adverse environment.
Looking at the information in more detail, the highest proportion of energy usage was from heating, with 42%, followed by water
heating, which accounted for 30%. Additionally
, the lowest percentages were from cooling and lighting, with the former at 2% and the latter at 4%.
Moving on to the second chart, it can be seen that the major sources of contaminants came from water
heating and other appliances, at 32% and 28%, respectively. The percentages of greenhouse gas emissions
from refrigeration and heating were similar, at 14% and 15%. Meanwhile, the proportions of emissions
from cooling and lighting both constituted less than 10%.Submitted by zora840810 on
