The diagrams below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given maps outline the structural changes of Grange
Park
and showcase the difference between when it first opened and the present condition of the park
. Overall
, it is evident that the park
has been transformed dramatically.
The park
had two entrances, one facing Arnold Avenue and the other through Eldon Street, which remains the same at present. There were three rose gardens in the year 1920, two on either side of the entrance overlooking Arnold Avenue, the one on the left remains intact whereas
the other one on the right has now been removed and a cafe has taken its place. The third rose garden which was located near the entrance facing Eldon Street has also
been moved into the middle of the lawn where a fountain used to exist.
The seating arrangements in 1920 were scattered on all sides of the garden, in the current scenario the seats are arranged surrounding the rose garden in the middle and opposite the Amphitheatre. The stage for musicians has been changed into a giant Amphitheatre which is used for organizing concerts. Additionally
, a children's play area and a water feature have been built in the place replacing the pond for water plants and the glasshouse. Another major transformation that the estate has gone through is the parking facilities built underground.Submitted by assudanikanchan1 on
