The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year Summarise the information by selectign and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The southwest
airport
was planned to be renovated next year. There are some changes in the
airport
layout
after
this
construction is finished. At the moment, the
airport
has one gate for departures and one for arrivals. If we go through the departure gates, we can find check-in counters on the left and a
cafe
on the right. Afterwards, passengers have to go through the security and passport control
that is
located right behind the
cafe
. There is a hallway that connects the front area to the terminal. Currently, the
airport
has a walkway and 8 gates in the terminal.
Additionally
, there is
also
passport control and customs that the passengers have to go through before running into the arrival gate. By next year, there are a few changes being made to the layout of the
airport
. There will be an additional gate to both the departures and arrivals. The area that used to be check-in counters will be replaced by the bag drop,
while
the check-in counters will be moved to the opposite. Meanwhile, the
cafe
that is
formerly located in that particular place will be relocated next to the bag drop.
Moreover
, the hallway that connects the terminal and departures will not be empty anymore because there will be new stores built.
Furthermore
, the terminal will have 18 gates and a sky train that will be built in the middle of the terminal. Apart from that, there will be a new
cafe
, ATM, and car hire in the arrivals area.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
