The map below shows the development of the village of Ryemouth between 1995 and present.
The map illustrates the changes that occurred in the village of Reymouth between 1955 and the present day.
Overall
, many changes occurred between 1995 and the present day, the most noticeable of them being the increase in housing, the addition of sports facilities, and the removal of the fish market and its fishing port.
Towards the south of the village lies the sea. In 1995, this
sea contained a fishing port with a large fishing market just at its shore, and a small café stood on the east of it. The street across contained several shops on the west and a hotel to the east. A piece of farmland and a forest park covered the northeast side of Ryemouth, while
the northwest part hosted the houses of the inhabitants: 12 houses in total, with 4 encircled by a side street.
Looking at present-day Ryemouth, it can be seen that the farmland and forest parks have been removed to make way for a golf course and tennis courts, and the number of houses has increased from 12 to 16. The shops in the southwest have been converted to restaurants, and the hotel now includes a car park for visitors. Importantly, the fishing industry has been completely removed, with apartments now replacing the fish market.Submitted by chanchaldubai1 on
