Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two maps illustrate a small
village
in the west of Ireland in 2000 and at the present time.
Overall
, a rural
area
with farmland has been changed into a more residential
area
with more housing and parks. The southern part of the
village
used to be a commercial
area
with a dock for fishery, which was replaced by restaurants and the dock was completely removed from the sea. The most significant changes are that the large farmland on the north-west side of the
village
was replaced by a park and that the dock and the markets in the southern of the
village
disappeared and there are currently up to four restaurants available along the street which spreads from the west to the east of the
village
. The residential
area
was enlarged with additional houses on the
further
extended streets located in the centre of the
village
and those located in the north-west.
Furthermore
, a car park was built
at the end
of the streets in the southwest.
