The chart below shows the percentage of five North American lakes covered in ice during two 20-year periods.

Summarise the imformation by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar graph shown compares the amount of lake covered in ice of five different North American lakes across 2 different time periods which are from 1973 to 1992 and from 1992 to 2012.
Overall
, if we take the two periods in combination,
it is clear that
the higher frozen proportion occurred during the first one, from 1973 to 1992. During the 19-year
period
of 1973 to 1992, the glaciated part of Erie Lake was at its highest, at exactly 30%,
whereas
in the second
period
,
this
number was reduced by approximately 2.5%, equivalent to roughly 27.5%.
Nevertheless
, Erie still remained the highest in both periods.
In contrast
, Ontario Lake was covered the least in ice, with more than 5% from 1973 to 1992, and a slight reduction to less than 5% in the other
period
reported. The other lakes,
such
as Superior, Huron, and Michigan, showed broad similarities since they all decreased significantly in the following
period
. As far as the 3 lakes were concerned, their solidified part in the first
period
ranged from less than 15% to about 27.5%;
however
, that number reduced severely to a scope of 10% to 20% in the subsequent
period
.
