, it can be observed that the proportion of females was at the forefront in every region, with South Asia making up the greatest percentage. Diving deeper, the illiteracy rate of women in South Asia was around 56%, making it the highest figure on the chart. Arab states followed a similar trend as the previous district, with just over half of females who were not able to read,

women in Sub-Saharan Africa were just below half. As for Oceania, the Caribbean, and developed countries, they all had rates of a fifth or less. Turning to the male ratios, South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa both had similar figures of slightly more than 30%.
