The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.
The line chart illustrates the amount of four different types of meat and
fish
consumed in a European nation from 1979 to 2004.
Overall
,
it is clear that
only the
intake
of
chicken
consistently increased throughout the 25 years, and it became the most consumed livestock.
In contrast
, the
intake
of
fish
remained the least significant throughout the period. In 1979, beef was the most consumed meat in the country, with an average of 220
grams
per person every week. Meanwhile, every individual only bought approximately 145g of
chicken
weekly, which was even lower than lamb(150
grams
), and
fish
consumption was a negligible amount, accounting for 55
grams
per capita weekly.
However
, the
intake
of
chicken
overtook that of lamb and beef in 1989. The
intake
of beef experienced a surge in the first five years, reaching a peak of 245
grams
each person per week.
However
, it continuously fell to only 110g over the rest of the period.
On the other hand
, both lamb and
fish
consumption followed a descending trend over the whole period, which fell from 150g to 60 and from 55g to 50
grams
respectively in 2004. Undoubtedly, the most obvious trend between 1979 and 2002 is the dramatic rise in
chicken
consumption, reaching a peak of 255
grams
per capita per week.
