The graph below shows the production levels of the main kinds of fuel in the UK between 1981 and 2000. Summarize the formation by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The graph illustrates data about how much of the main fuels were produced, over a nineteen-year period between 1981 and 2000.
In general, what stands out from the graph is that there were remarkable upward trends in both petroleum and natural gas,
while
the production
of coal fell dramatically. Another interesting point is that the highest production
was for petroleum in the period mentioned.
Looking at the details, as regards petroleum, production
started at around 90 units
in 1981, then
it rose sharply to 140 units
over the next three years, at which point it leveled
off until 1987. Change the spelling
levelled
Then
the figure went down significantly by the end of 1990, but it rose gradually, finishing at around 140 units
in 2000.
In addition
, coal making started at 80 units
and remained the same for 2 years but still, it plummeted to under 40 units
in 1985. Despite experiencing a sharp rise to around 60 units
, it fell gradually to around 30 units
in 2000.
On the other hand
, the production
of natural gas started at just under 40 units
but didn't see any noticeable change for around a decade. The graph then
began to rise moderately, which it finished at 100 units
