A good friend has just changed schools and is having difficulty fitting in and needs your advice. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter • make suggestions as to how they could make friends • suggest joining clubs, participating in school activities • give any extra general advice
Dear Alex,
I hope
this
letter finds you well as I got very concerned after your last
letter which says you are finding it very hard to adjust to a new school.
Firstly
, I would suggest you should give yourself some time and try to make some friends. Start by befriending your benchmate. I am sure in no time you will have lots of new friends. Trust me, it is just a matter of time.
Moreover
, how about joining your school's Volleyball team as I clearly remember your passion for the game. And take part in debate or speech competitions as you used to do in your previous school. All these curricular activities would give you the opportunity to know other students.
However
, making friends is a slow process and I would recommend you to be open to conversations. And leave the past behind and try focussing on the present.
I will see you when you come to visit your grandparents which I hope will be soon. If by chance you need somebody to talk to I am always here for you.
Best wishes,
