Many people believe that a university education is necessary for a good career. Do you agree or disagree? What other factors can contribute to a good career?

Many people argue that a
university
education
is essential for securing a successful
career
.
While
a
degree
can provide specialized knowledge and open doors to certain professions, I believe that it is not the only path to success. Other factors
such
as
skills
, work experience, and networking
also
play a crucial role in building a fulfilling
career
. A
university
education
undoubtedly offers numerous benefits.
For instance
, it equips students with theoretical knowledge, critical thinking
skills
, and a structured approach to learning. Certain professions,
such
as medicine, law, and engineering, require formal
education
and certification, making a
university
degree
mandatory.
Moreover
, higher
education
often improves job prospects by allowing individuals to stand out in competitive job markets.
For example
, many multinational companies prioritize candidates with academic qualifications when hiring for specialized roles.
However
, there are several other factors that contribute to a good
career
.
Skills
, both technical and soft, are highly valued in today's workplace.
For example
, someone with strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and communication
skills
might thrive in a business environment without a formal
degree
.
Moreover
, practical work experience can be just as valuable as academic learning. Many people start their careers through internships or apprenticeships, gradually working their way up without formal
university
training. Successful entrepreneurs like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg are prime examples of individuals who built thriving careers without completing their
university
education
. Networking
also
plays a crucial role in
career
development, as professional connections can lead to new opportunities and
career
growth.
While
a
university
education
can be an asset, it is not the only path to a successful
career
.
Skills
, experience, and networking are equally important in achieving professional success.
Therefore
,
while
a
degree
may provide a strong foundation, individuals should
also
focus on developing other qualities that can contribute to their
career
growth.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
