, Malaysia has the biggest population living in the cities. Meanwhile, Thailand is the least urbanised. In 1970, the Malaysian population living in urban life was just below the Philippines, respectively 30% and 40%.

, the percentage of Malaysians consistently went up throughout the decade. It reached three-fourths in 2020 and it was predicted to top 85% in 2040.

, the Philippines’ population in the city fluctuated as it was seen

just over 30% in 1970 and rose significantly to just below 50% in 1990 before it declined to 40% in 2010.
