The diagram shows a method of shaping glass containers. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The graph provides information on the production of the
glass
containers. Each step of the process has been illustrated highlighting the most significant points.
To begin
the process a glass
has to be collected and crushed. In such
a form it is transported to the furnace where at the temperature of 105 degrees Celsius it undergoes a melting process. Then
, in a liquid form, it is put the special mould where a hydraulic press presses against the walls of the container. Subsequently
, when the press is removed the glass
container fills up with air.
Before the glass
is cooled it has to be removed from the mould and placed in the kiln at a temperature of 482 degrees Celsius. Later, the container is placed in the cooling device at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius for approximately 60 minutes. Heating it and cooling makes the glass
stronger and harder to break. In the end, a factory worker has to check whether the glass
is scratch-free and, therefore
, good for utilization. Broken glass
is thrown away and a good one is sent to the stores to be later sold.Submitted by kuba.glogowski on
