library
floor two decades ago and how it looks today.
Overall
, the library
is long and wide rectangular in shape and has a main entrance and four rooms in each corner of the building. Over the period the central library
is completely changed by removing all chairs and tables in the centre and the adult non-fiction books
in the Eastern side
and with the addition of some facilities.
The most noticeable changes are the reading room
on the right side
of the entrance was converted into a computer room
and the door was relocated from the north side
to the east side
of the library
. The enquirer desk was replaced by a cafe and set up a new door on the left side
of the cafe. The adult fiction books
relocated to the eastern side
of the library
with some new facilities such
as the information desk and self-service machines. All reference books
are now on the west side
of the library
.
However
, the children’s books
room
was replaced by the lecture room
, which is located in the northeast of the library
. The room
had CDs, videos and computer games expanded and replaced with room
for storytelling events and children’s fiction books
with added sofas for children to sit on.Submitted by ghazl.1998g on
