task response
State your view in one clear way. You say both sides have equal weight, but you also say you agree. Choose one main view and keep it from start to end.
task response
Answer the key point: whether yearly tests are the best way to make roads safer. Explain why yearly tests would help, and why other steps may also be needed, such as police checks, road signs, and tough laws.
task response
Make each main idea clear. Your first body part is about young people getting a licence without a test, but the topic is about tests every year for all drivers. Link this point more closely to yearly testing.
task response
Use examples that clearly prove your point. The news example is not fully explained, and the numbers are unclear. Give a simple example and explain how it shows yearly tests can reduce danger on the road.
coherence and cohesion
Use a clear four-part plan: introduction, reasons for your view, the other side, and conclusion. This will make your answer easier to follow.
coherence and cohesion
Start each body part with one main idea. For example: "Yearly tests can make drivers remember road rules." Then add one or two clear reasons and an example.
coherence and cohesion
Use linking words in the right way. "Although" is often used without a full contrast. Try simple links such as "However", "For example", "As a result", and "In addition".
coherence and cohesion
Avoid very long sentences with many ideas. Split them into short sentences so the reader can see the point and the result clearly.
task response
You discuss both the possible good side and the time cost of driving tests.
task response
You give a clear real-life area for discussion: young drivers, jobs, and road crashes.
coherence and cohesion
Your essay has an introduction, two main body parts, and a conclusion.
coherence and cohesion
You try to use signpost words such as "For instance", "Furthermore", and "In conclusion".
Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
