Some people believe that stricter punishment should be given for traffic offences. To what extent do you agree?

It is often believed that
offences should be taken more seriously and I completely agree with
view for two major reasons.
, when sanctions are lenient, people will flout the laws and
, disobedience of
may led
may lead
to grave consequences
as death and as
, it should not be taken lightly. I will expatiate on these two reasons in the paragraphs below.
To begin
, it is important for authorities to adhere totally to the
that has been deemed fit for flouting of any
law or else, drivers will break these laws without
(baseball) the batter's attempt to get on base
an eye lid because they know they will either get away with little or no
at all. To Illustrate, where I reside on the mainland, police officers are quick to let
law breakers go after they plead for forgiveness and the resultant effect is incessant disobedience of
light and illegal turns in that locality. Another reason why
someone who perpetrates wrongdoing
crimes should be given maximum
is that most
law offences
may led
may lead
to serious damages to lives and properties through car
(physics) a brief event in which two or more bodies come together
and knocking down of pedestrians. A good illustration is the famous vehicle accident that occurred on
Mainland bridge when some private cars decided to do one-way on the bridge due to
congestion on their side of the road and
as a result
there was a collusion of cars and may lives and properties were lost. As if that was not enough, a fight erupted among the locals and there was a three-day unrest in that vicinity. In conclusion, it is obvious that if
laws are treated with laxity, the results will be unpalatable and dangerous for the society.
