Dear Mr Daniel, I am writing
this
to inform you of my decision to leave school before the end of the semester. It is my grandmother's 90th birthday and the family is gathering for a big birthday ceremony in her honour at home. She has been the shining light in our family and we are afraid that we might not have much time left with her. The event will be two weeks before the end of the semester and I will need your permission to leave school early to go attend the ceremony. I would have submitted all my coursework for all my classes.
Furthermore
,I would have
also
written exams for all the courses that require exams and as
such
my studies will not be affected. Thank you for your kind consideration, I look forward

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
