A government’s role is only to provide defence capability and urban infrastructure (roads, water supplies, etc.). All other services (education, health, social security) should be provided by private groups or individuals in the community. Do you agree or disagree?

Most people argue that the ministry's core duty is to provide defence and other key infrastructures
such
as roads and water supplies whereas all other services like education and health, including social security should be the responsibility of private groups or persons within the community. But I believe that it is
also
the responsibility of the law to ensure that there are good hospitals, schools and
also
personal security of every citizen of the nation. On the one hand, individuals who argue that private groups and persons should undertake in building
such
facilities say that because they feel more citizens in the country acquire so much wealth for themselves and should channel some of it in establishing basic amenities for the public use.
For example
, if a person out of goodwill collaborates with other individuals to set up schools, sporting centres and so on to assist the masses, that won't be a bad idea at all. In fact, it will be a thing of joy to give back to the community. But
this
should be done freely without necessarily imposing it on the people.
On the other hand
, persons who say government should cater only for some services are not totally wrong because they feel the burden on the government should be lessened and so capable persons should take up these load. Inasmuch as both groups have a point, I do not totally agree that the government should only undertake some responsibilities and leave some of them for its citizens. The law should ensure that every public service is well funded and established irrespective of whether other private sectors choose to do it or not. And individuals shouldn't be saddled with
such
responsibility as providing a well-being centre, schools and social security except they choose to get involved.
