On a recent holiday, you lost a valuable item. Fortunately you have travel insurance to cover the cost of the lost item. Write a letter to the insurance manager. In your letter: Describe the item you lost Explain how you lost it Tell the insurance company what would you like them to do

Dear Sir or Madam,
This
letter is to bring to your notice about the loss of my
iPad
a few days back, and furnish details about the product, incident, and required actions to aid the official insurance procedures. During my latest visit to Jacksonville, Florida, my
Ipad
was misplaced. The
iPad
features a black back cover case with three scratches, slightly to the right side of the front-facing camera.
Additionally
, my micro-magnetic

pencil could not be found, which was placed inside my rucksack. Not only my
iPad
went missing, but
also
my other electronic peripherals. When I was surfing, snorkelling, yachting, I suspect that I would have misplaced the

in the safety lockers.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
