Men and women employed in full-time jobs have to share evenly household chores and caring for children at home.  Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

Given how much time women are spending at work, the question of how much housework and
childcare
Suggestion
child care
should each marriage partner do has recently attracted a great deal of public interest, with many saying that
both
men and women should undertake equal responsibilities around the house.
This
essay will shed light on why
this
is a forward-thinking proposal. Granted, one might argue that housework and
childcare
are traditionally women’s duties.
This
is predicated on the gender stereotype that men spend more hours, and have more responsibilities at workplaces compared to their female counterparts;
hence
,
childcare
and domestic tasks are deemed to be for women.
However
,
this
line of reasoning is flawed in the sense that nowadays, the working time of female workers is similar to that of male employees.
Therefore
, it seems to be unfair if a woman has to work as much as a man and assume
childcare
responsibilities as well as other chores. To add
further
credence to my assertion, I note that evenly sharing household tasks and
childcare
can be largely beneficial to the family life and
society
as a whole. With regard to the former,
this
proposal could help strengthen the family bonds.
This
can be seen in way burnt out working women would be content as not having to spend hours preparing meals for the family or bathing the baby, to name but two, and children would benefit from being cared for by
both
parents.
As a result
, equally sharing domestic tasks could facilitate better understandings in the family, and prevent potential domestic conflicts and an increase in the number of
such
families would help ensure the stability of
society
.
Additionally
,
this
proposal could assist in removing gender discrimination, fostering a fairer
society
where
both
genders are respected
both
at
workplace
Suggestion
the workplace
and in the home. In conclusion, for the reasons elaborated above, it stands to reason that if
both
genders undertake the same amount of work in the home,
this
can be advantages to not solely family but
also
society
.
