Many people prefer to watch foreign films than locally produced films. Why could this be? Should governments give more financial support to local film industries?

It is true that foreign movies are more popular in many countries than domestically produced movies. There could be several reasons why
this
is the case, and I believe that the authority should promote local
film
-making by subsidizing the industry. There are significant factors why many people would rather watch foreign films than films produced in their own countries.
First
and foremost, the established
film
industries of many certain countries have huge budgets for
quality
scripts, special effects, and scenes in spectacular locations. Hollywood blockbusters,
such
as “Avatar”, are examples of
such
productions, which include extremely gorgeous footage. It is apparent that their global appeal is undeniable. Another reason why these big-budget films are highly successful is that they often involve the most famous actors and the most accomplished producers and directors. An interesting plot
also
plays an important role. Admittedly, the poor
quality
, low-budget filmmaking in many countries suffers in comparison.
In addition

may give rise to the situation. In some developing countries, individuals tend to favour foreign goods over local ones, which comes from the belief that the former is higher in terms of
quality
. In my view, governments should support local
film
industries financially for primary reasons. In order to compete with big-budget productions from overseas, these people need money to pay for filming crews, famous actors and a host of other costs related to producing high-
quality
films. To be specific, it is essential for governments
to cut

taxes in local
film
industries. If governments did help with these costs, they would have several benefits

such
as an increase in employment in the
film
industry, income from
film
sales, and perhaps even a rise in moviegoer numbers.
In addition
, there may be talented amateur
film-makers
a producer of motion pictures

filmmaker
who only need to be given the opportunity to prove themselves, exchange and gain experience from high-
quality
film
industries. In conclusion, I believe that investment from the authority could not only help to raise the
quality
of local
film
-making but
also
allow them to compete with foreign productions. The government should reduce taxes, which is likely to be a long-term solution to
this
.
