Some
people
say
History
is one of the most important
school
subjects
. Other
people
think that, in today’s world,
subjects
like
Science
and
Technology
are more important than
History
. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. While some may argue that
history
is one of the most crucial
subjects
for
students
at
school
, others claim that
science
and
technology
are more fundamental.
This
essay will discuss both views and I will conclude with my own opinion. Learning
history
has many benefits
such
as learning from mistakes and developing more rounded
people
.
First
and foremost, the past is full of mistakes as George Santayana once quoted: “Those who are unable to recall the past are doomed to repeat it.”, there have been numerous warning flags in the past. We must be able to reflect on the events that led up to them, learn from past mistakes and reject as well as question similar patterns if we notice the arising.
Furthermore
, there are many stories, some are uplifting and motivating while others are disordering and immoral. If we dive into the fascinating world of
history
, we will find that there are many important lessons for
students
to learn.
Thus
, learning
history
is greatly beneficial, and as claimed by many, to be one of the most important
subjects
at
school
.
In contrast
, if
history
is all about studying past events,
science
and
technology
are two topics that are destined for the future as they help
students
to identify what is wrong on the internet as well as
teaching

First
of all, “The coronavirus is killed by saunas and alcohol!”, during the
first
wave of the pandemic,
this
was
such
a piece of wonderful news.
However
, unfortunately, the news was without a doubt from scientific studies to be fake, but
people
still believe it because they do not understand viruses,
this
may be the result of not studying biology, a branch subject of
science
. In comparison,
students
who learn
this
at
school
acknowledge that the news was not true and in a humorous manner cut their spending.
Furthermore
, nowadays, we have all witnessed the importance of
technology
and how we are already relying on it. Learning
technology
may easily introduce
students
to the new age of engineering.
Therefore
,
science
and
technology
, as believed by the majority of the population is more critical than
history
in schools’ curriculum. In conclusion, despite conflicting ideas whether
history
is more crucial than
science
and
technology
-related
subjects
are not, in my opinion,
science
and
technology
is the more critical subject at
school
than
history
.
