The map gives information about the current layout of the centre of a small town Islip and it
also
illustrates the development plan of the same. Overall, it can be depicted that major changes will occur on the northern
side
of the town, while the southern
side
does not face as many changes. As can be seen in the diagram, the shops on the northern
side
will be replaced by a bus station, shopping centre, car park and new housing .
On the other hand
, the main road will be converted into a dual carriageway which will
also
replace the countryside and the middle area will be restricted to pedestrians only.
Similarly
, the shops which are located on the southern
side
of the area restricted for pedestrians will remain unchanged and the land for park and school will decrease and increase respectively, by making slight changes in the location of housing a new housing will be constructed near the park.
