Leadership responsibility on contemporary times. To what extent to you agree or disagree

Leadership is about responsibilities. I have had the opportunity to serve as a leader in different capacities and even now while writing
this
essay am still of
service
to my country, my community and humanity at large. I am a Nigerian, a fresh graduate and currently serving as the President of the Community
Development
Service
(CDS) of the National Youth
Service
Corps in my state of deployment and Local Government Area of Primary Assignment. I preside over a group of sixty-eight corps members. We have a mandate as part of our community
development
service
to render Charity and promote in our own capacity the Sustainable
Development
Goals. My county is an indigent country; most households can barely afford a healthy meal, health care services and portable
water
. As the CDS, president my regime visited local markets to educate them on proper hygiene and
also
demonstrated how to maintain proper hygiene in a public environment which is one of the sustainable
development
goals. We showed them how to disinfect drainages that held dirty
water
and as well thought them to properly cover their food to avoid infestation by any disease-carrying organism. We showed them proper and affordable ways of purifying drinking
water
. I and my team
also
visited three secondary schools and one church. We educated them on the importance of handwashing especially at a time where COVID-19 is ravaging the world. We showed them proper ways to sneeze, associate in public spaces as well as exchange pleasantries. We didn’t leave those old men/women in the society out of our work as we tagged with along an interpreter who understood their local language and interpreted to them all we have said concerning “Good hygiene and proper sanitation”. Including the religious quote “Cleanliness is
next
to Godliness”. I as well led a team that visited the general hospital where we donated Antiseptic soaps, detergent, sanitary pads, bathroom disinfectants etc.
This
is a part of our charity work for society and we look forward to doing more. I am a member of the Nigerian Red Cross, Bayelsa state branch. I was the Assistant Commandant and one-time Acting Commandant at the Niger Delta University detachment where I had my undergraduate studies. I carried out administrative works but most of all recruitment and training of new volunteers. I am a certified
first
aider. I shared my knowledge with newly recruited members and encouraged them to as well take
first
aid courses which are paramount to human life. I was
also
a coordinator and active participant in a health orientation program carried out by the Faculty of Nursing in Niger Delta University in partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross (Bayelsa state branch, Niger Delta University Closed Detachment) where I happened to be a member. I taught the guest of the program the impact of open defecation; I brought to their knowledge how
such
activities as seen predominant in these areas leads to spreading of diseases, causing air and
water
pollution etc.
