The detailed procedure of producing electricity from
water
 in a
power
 station has been illustrated by the given picture representation. At ,
first
 the free flow of
water
 in a natural river system has become prevented by the construction of a dam.
Therefore

 is being stored in a reservoir, which can contain a huge volume of
water
. From the massive ,storage
water
 is released during daytime with intensive velocity for the generation of electric
power
.
However
, at night
this
water
 has pumped back again to the storehouse. The intake remains open in daylight and closes after sunset. At the
power
 ,station a generator is placed along with reversible turbines, which operate after sunrise to produce electricity;
although
, it assists to pump
water
 back into high-level
water
 gauge after sundown from storage, which stores less amount
water
. After
power
 ,production has been supplied with the assistance of cables or attached with pylons. They carry
power
 with help of a generator to the national grid. Overall, the entire process of generating current can be understood easily with the help of diagrammatic representation in a well organised and systematic manner.
