More and more city workers are deciding to live in the country and travel into work every day. The result is increased traffic congestion and damage to the environment. What measures do you think could be taken to encourage people not to travel such long distances into work?

There are more and more
people
moving out from big
cities
to suburban areas to live.
This
is causing many problems from traffic to the environment because most of the jobs now are available in the big
cities
, so
people
have to travel back into the
cities
every day to
work
. To tackle
this
problem, there are some remedies.
To begin
with, the government should reduce the gap between the countryside and city by constructing and relocating factories and administration offices to the rural areas to create jobs for
people
. They will still live in the suburban areas with their suitable jobs and only have to travel short distances to
work
.
Besides
, technologically speaking, thanks to the development of technology, there are more opportunities for
people
to
work
online at home. So, there are no reasons why companies could not let their workers
work
at home, perhaps two days per week and
then
go to
work
for the rest of the week. A very different way to deal with the problem is encouraging
people
to stay in
cities
by improving the quality of life there.
For example
, the government should spend more money to reduce crime and society evils as those are the primary reasons why
people
do not want to live in the
cities
.
Furthermore
, as well as the environment can be made cleaner and agreeable to live with more green trees and fewer skyscrapers. In these ways,
people
might be encouraged to stay rather than move out. In conclusion, there are many ways to overcome the situation in both the countryside and city points of view. The government, as well as all of society's components, should join hands to find the best solution for
