Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the dinner I had at your restaurant. I am a regular customer there for over 5 years now and I have never had a horrible experience like
this
one before.
Consequently
, I am positive I deserve better treatment. Two weeks ago, I reserved a table for a group reunion, as I am a member of a social organization, since we intended to have a meeting for discussing some of our interests in a private place.
However
, at
first
, the minute we arrived there, your receptionist told me they did not have any places for us to seat in, as well as they did not have any information on the schedule I had made.
Secondly
, when we were
finally
set up, the meal we ordered took over two hours to get prepared. Even though, when the dishes were placed, we noticed the food was completely cold, which made me feel really mad and abused since I and my colleagues were all starving.
Nonetheless
, when I told your waiter that due to all those awful situations that I and my group were exposed to, I would not be paying for any extra charges, like his tips, he kicked us out of the diner, in from of all other people were just sitting there. That was absolutely disrespectful, as I have never been in my whole life before! In
this
way, I expect you to be refunding all the money I and my team has just spent at your diner.
Although
, If it is not possible, I would like you to, at least, write down a formal apology note to be published on the eatery's website, as a recognition of your mistake and
then
we can even come back, someday, to eat at your place again. Enclosed to
this
letter, is my receipt for the dinner we had, as all the bank account information for the refund deposits. I look forward to having a swift solution for
this
matter, as I feel truly embarrassed with all the situation I put all my invites into. Yours faithfully, Anna Fraga

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
