You arranged to visit a friend in England but an important event at home happened, which means that you must change the date of the visit. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter, • explain the important event • apologize for the situation • suggest a new arrangement
Dear Jasmine,
I hope that you and your family are well and safe during
this
pandemic. I heard that England is coping well with this
pandemic. Have you been vaccinated yet? I was given a booster shot yesterday and my arm is sore now.
I’m writing to give you a piece of joyous news that my brother is getting married! He proposed to his high school sweetheart this
morning and she accepted. He is planning for their wedding in February next
year.
Their big day falls into the period that I will be visiting you, which means that I will have to postpone my visit to you, unfortunately. As I’ll have to help out in the planning for my brother’s big day, I will be able to go to England only at a later date. I am so, really sorry to disappoint you. I know that you have made lots of exciting plans for us during my visit to the UK and you have been looking forward to it as much as I do.
I am thinking of visiting you at the end of March instead
. How does it sound? Let’s plan together for our itinerary to suit the new period. I’ll wait for your reply before confirming the new dates with the airline. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
