You have a Facebook friend living in another country and s/he is curious to learn about a major news item in your country.

Dear Sara, I am so sorry I haven't written to you for so long. I have participated in a running competition which was for abandoned children. I am writing
this
letter to inform you about
this
competition. Unfortunately, Iran has been dealing with unpleasant situations in foster houses for the
last
month. Many children who breed in these houses suffer from malnutrition and lack of enough facilities.
Hence
, the governments organized a running competition and each competitor had to donate money to qualify for running. It was a great event since millions of dollars were collected at the event to cover all the expenses for the infrastructure of fosters. I was lucky enough to not only run for children but
also
be a member of the team to organize
this
process.
Finally
, I like to inform you about the upcoming event which is going to be held on 14th September 2022. You make me happy if you and your friends can join us. Love, Dorna
