One problem faced by almost every large city is traffic congestion. What do you think the causes are? What solutions can you suggest?

Nowadays, an increasing number of
people
have become to live in large
cities
rather than rural
areas
, and
this
causes
heavy
traffic
problems in urban
areas
. In
this
essay, I am going to discuss
two
reasons behind
this
problem
and examine possible ways to address it.
To begin
with, there are
two
causes
behind
this
problem
.
Firstly
, overpopulation of large metropolitan
cities
and depopulation in the countryside are one of the major
causes
of
this
. Since there are few jobs in the countryside,
people
move out to large
cities
and look for jobs that pay better salaries.
As a result
, the city population has increased and
traffic
congestion happens.
Secondly
, another reason for
this
commuting time. In general,
people
commute to their office at the same hours, around 8 to 9.
This
leads to public transportations
such
as trains fully packed. I believe that there are
two
possible ways to address
such
issues. The
first
solution is to enhance moving to rural
areas
. As overpopulation in large
cities
is a severe
problem
, depopulation in rural
areas
is critical.
However
, if
people
are able to find well-paid jobs in the countryside, around half of the Japanese population wants to live there. Another solution is to vary the commuting time. In fact, the most remarkable
traffic
jam is caused by
people
who commute to their office. Varying times of commuting may result in easing
traffic
jams in the morning and the evening. To conclude, there are
two
causes
which are overpopulation in large
cities
and commuting. To solve
this
problem
, it is better to move to rural
areas
and decrease the population of large
cities
, and varying commuting time is
also
effective.
