Dear Manager, I am Supun Kularatne, a regular customer at your Cold avenue diner. I am writing to complain about a meal I enjoyed with my family at your cafeteria a few days ago. On the 5th of July, I went to the Cold Street restaurant with my family to celebrate my graduation. I ordered two portions of cold street special rice, one portion of Biriyani for our main course, for the desserts four cups of fruit salads mixed with ice cream. The service of that particular day was so unpleasant, that it took almost two and half hours to sever what we ordered. Not only that, we experienced a bad taste of the food. The chicken which was in both Cold Street special and Biriyani was half cooked.
Moreover
, the fruit salad was served, and it had no ice cream. Immediately complained about
this
, to your restaurant your sales representative who at the restaurant at that moment. In reply, he said he had not enough staff to complete the orders. I felt so furious but I did tell them anything and left the place with my family with a heart full of sorrow. Prior to
this
day, I had no memory of happening
such
things. All I had, lovely memories of tasting good food with kind service. I want you to take action, regarding what happened on that day, and if you take
such
please share with me, what are you going to do in order to prevent
such
things from happening in the future. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours Sincerely, Supun

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
