Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to let you know my sentiments about the plan for the expansion of the Newtown Airport. I am residing near Mandau Stadium, which is just a five-minute walk away from the said airport. I have been living here for more than a decade now, but
this
will be the
first
time I have had an issue with the local government’s proposal. The current expansion plan includes the demolition of the stadium to convert it into a runway.
This
stadium has been standing long before and is one of the town’s iconic establishments. I am against its destruction because that building means a lot to us. Many citizens have memories tied to it and have businesses running because of it. Having a bigger airport does come with advantages;
however
, I believe that tearing down a monumental building is not worth it. If you want to publish my grievances or quote me in any article, please do not hesitate. Kind Regards, Jamie Kraditch
