Some people believe that violence on television and in computer games has a damaging effect on the society. Others deny that these factors have any significant influence on people's behaviour. What is your opinion?

Several
people
are highly concerned that exposure to
violence
in
media
might harm society.
On the other hand
, others believe that consuming
such
media
would not significantly influence
people
’s behaviour. I firmly believe that violent content has the potential to harm society.
Therefore
, it is worth exploring these two opposing views below.
First
, TV and computer
games
are the most common place for violent content in the
media
. Most
people
would spend their day watching TV and playing
games
on their PC. Specifically for young
people
.
This
behaviour will lead to problematic behaviour if we are not careful.
For instance
, there was news reported in Indonesia when a kid stabbed his classmate with a knife, and it was said that he was inspired by the violent act of his favourite character from his computer
games
. Despite the obvious evidence, some
people
are still not concerned about the
violence
shown in the
media
. They may argue that
media
was meant for entertainment, and
people
of all ages should be aware of
this
.
Nevertheless
, the problem lies when we talk about youngsters who are still quite emotionally unstable and cannot distinguish between fantasy and reality. In
this
case, I believe that the damage of
violence
in
media
will always be apparent, and
people
should not take
this
matter lightly. To summarize, television and computer
games
play a more critical role in our society than we can imagine. For the betterment of our community, it is our job as adults to regulate the
violence
in
media
and protect the young. Especially for young
people
, as they are still vulnerable and consuming
media
most of the time.
