During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants. Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter, remind him when and where you met tell him what kind of job you are interested in say why you think you would be suitable for the job
Dear Dilhan,
Hope you are keeping well and you had a safe flight.
I hope you remember me. We met during a recent flight to Dubai in September and I was seated
next
to you. I am glad I met you and that we were able to get to know each other and have an interesting conversation during our travel. It just made the time fly.
Furthermore
, I remember you mentioned that you own and manage a famous chain of restaurants in Dubai. I am writing to check if there are any opportunities available in the marketing department as I am keen on pursuing an overseas opportunity.
I have been studying marketing over the past years from the time I left school and even completed my MBA last
month. On the other hand
, I have also
been employed in prestigious companies that include marketing for restaurants and have an overall experience of over eight years both locally and internationally. I assume, with my qualifications ad experience I could be a good fit in adding value to your company.
Please let me know if there are any other aspects you would like to know.
Looking forward to receiving a favourable response from you!
Yours sincerely,

Structure your letter
A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:
- A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
- The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
- A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)
When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.
All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
