You have seen an advertisement for part-time work in a hotel for three months over the summer. Write a letter to the manager. In your letter Say what experience you have Ask what the work involves Enquire about conditions
Dear Mr Sharma,
I recently came across an advertisement which stated the requirement of a part-time worker in your hotel.
I am writing
this
letter to express my interest in the above-mentioned job position. I am currently pursuing my degree in hotel management and it is my last
year of college. Although
professionally I may not be able to show you an experience certificate, however
, I assure you that I possess a vast experience in cooking and baking since my childhood. This
is due to the fact that my father is into the hotel industry and I have always helped him since my childhood.
Further
, it would be great if you could explain a bit more about what skills are actually required for this
role, like leading the team or being joined as an assistant.
I would also
want to enquire about the other conditions like the salary, perks, overtime wages and environmental conditions etc. Will there be days when I have to miss my college or what are the criteria for leaves and absenteeism?
If you believe that I can serve as a potential candidate for this
role, kindly send a response to this
letter.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,

- The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
- A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)
When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.
All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
