You were hurt in a small accident in a store last week. Write a letter to the store manager. In your letter: introduce yourself describe what happened say what action you would like the manager to take

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to bring to your attention an incident that occurred in your supermarket Dose to your letter
last
weekend. would
also
like to make some suggestions so that
such
a thing does not happen again. My name is Jerry and have been a loyal customer at your Coles on Grange Road ever since moved into the area eight years ago.
Although
your store is slightly
further
from my home than the IGA, have always made the trip because of your quality fresh produce and excellent customer service. On
this
occasion,
however
, suffered an unfortunate accident due, believe, to the negligence of the shop floor staff. As was walking to the checkout with my groceries, slipped on some spilt water and fell over, spraining my wrist in the process. Though I understand the store gets very busy, feel that
this
fall could have been avoided if the staff had been quicker to act. would
therefore
like to suggest that you review your policies around spillages, and,
in particular
, ensure that staff members stand guard
next
to any spilt liquids until they have been cleaned up. hope you will take
this
into account in order to avoid
further
mishaps. Yours faithfully, Jerry Smart

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
