You recently bought a piece of equipment for your kitchen but it did not work. You phoned the shop but no action was taken. Write a letter to the shop manager. In your letter ● describe the problem with the equipment ● explain what happened when you phoned the shop ● say what you would like the manager to do.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
letter to express my dissatisfaction with the dishwasher which I have bought
last
week on Monday from the Zayed branch.
Firstly
,
Although
I have heard a lot about the good reputation of your shop, unfortunately, I had a bad experience. To illustrate
this
, After the instalment of the new dishwasher which I have bought, I discovered that it is not working and I faced a leak in the water and
this
makes a diverse effect on my home and my furniture.
Moreover
, I called the call centre system and one of your employees told me that he will call the malfunctions sector and will respond to me after 24 hours. After waiting for 48 hours, I had to call them again, as they did not give me any attention, and they told me that there is nothing to do and they cannot replace the dishwasher, because I have signed on the delivery paper.
Hence
, I have decided to talk to you personally, as I got frustrated because of
this
experience and I really did not anticipate
this
attitude from a big company like yours.
Consequently
, I asked you to replace
this
machine or to give me a full refund, as well as I want your company to compensate me for the damage which happened to my home. Hopefully, you will pay immediate attention to
this
matter, and I am waiting for your response. Yours faithfully,

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
