The illustration demonstrates the pattern of how many shops were closed and opened in 7 years from 2011 to 2018 in a country. In general, both openings and closures groups experienced a decline during
this
period with some fluctuations. Regarding the opening pattern, in the
first
year of the period, the
number
of shops that started their business significantly dropped by almost half from 8500 to 4000 while the figure escalated from 2012 to 2014 to above 6000. From 2015 to 2017 the trend was relatively steady after a decrease to 4000 and
then
dwindled to the
number
of 3000.
On the other hand
, from 2011 to 2014 the
number
of shops that closed fluctuated to around 6200 and
then
it fell sharply to almost 500 in 2015. From that year the pattern grew almost more than ten times to 5000 and
then
it remained stable from 2016 to 2018 with the same
number
