Many countries raise fuel prices in order to deal successfully with problems pertaining to traffic and pollution. What effects do you think this move can have? What other measures do you think can be taken to reduce traffic and pollution?

The phenomenon of too many
cars
on the road cause to environmental damage has aroused wide concern among various circles.
Although
there will undoubtedly be some negative consequences of modern transportation tools, governments and individuals can take steps to mitigate these potential problems. Regarding the cause of pollution, modern
cars
run on
electricity
or burn fossil fuels, both
energy
cause pollution to varying degrees.
Although
electric
cars
will not release carbon dioxide directly like fuel
cars
, the most common source of generating
electricity
are natural gas and nuclear these days. Burning natural gas will have lower carbon emissions compared to fossil fuels, but considering the demand of the human community, it is still causing huge pollution to the atmosphere. As for nuclear
energy
, some nuclear waste is produced in the process of generating
electricity
which is something harmful to life. To deal with nuclear waste, people usually put them to the bottom of the ocean or Arctic and the Antarctic. If there are any leaks from the container, it will jeopardize all living creatures in the ocean. There are several actions that could be taken to solve the problems described above. Government should enforce strict policies and control the number of private vehicles on the road. It should be able to make people use public transportation rather than their
cars
in order to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide.
Moreover
, they should encourage
electricity
companies to use renewable
energy
as a source of
electricity
generation
such
as wind and hydro. While the general public should strict and educate the
next
generation not to waste so that the demand for
energy
will decrease. Under
this
line of thinking, more
cars
on the road more damage to our planet. In view of the dire consequence of
this
alarming trend, both the government and individuals should take steps to alleviate the problem to make our world a more sustainable place to live in.
