You have a full-time job and you are also doing a part-time evening course. You now find that you cannot continue the course. Write a letter to your teachers. In your letter describe the situation explain why you cannot continue at this time say what action you would like to take You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Mr Jackson, I am writing to inform you that I can no longer continue
this
course
at
this
time
due to
my full-time job schedule. As you know that I work at a tech company from 9 to 5 shift, but there have been changes lately. I have been assigned to the night shift for
this
month and it is clashing with my ongoing
course
. I believe that even if I managed to continue the
course
, I would not be able to complete my household work.
Moreover
, I could be the victim of stress and an unhealthy lifestyle.
Therefore
, I request you to understand my situation and begin the
course
next month. I look forward to hearing from you regarding
this
matter. Yours Sincerely, Susan Holmes.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
