An increasing number of vehicles have been deteriorating air quality and causing other problems. To solve the problems, governments imposed a congestion

tax

during peak demand.

This

article will explain why I believe

this

is both a negative and a positive trend. On the one hand, compared to other alternatives

such

as promoting public transport, imposing a congestion

tax

does not require much financial support, which means that the

government

only needs to set an electronic toll. If implemented, the

government

will have more funding that can be allocated to other public sectors,

such

as education and health systems.

However

this

policy

also

has its drawbacks. For those who are forced to travel during peak hours for work,

this

policy

will increase their financial burden, which is unfair to them. In

such

cases, people affected by

this

policy

may develop resentment towards legislation or protest against the

government

, causing people to be reluctant to cooperate with the authorities, which may lead to social unrest.

For example

, some truck drivers in London may have to pay the

tax

while

carrying groceries for a store or factory in the downtown area. Paying the

tax

may lead them to take strike action one day. In conclusion, based on the above analysis and evidence, imposing a congestion

tax

can be an effective way to solve the traffic problem and contribute to saving state revenue.

However

have a negative impact on certain groups.
