You live in an English speaking country and you want to do some voluntary, unpaid work in a developing country. Write a letter to a company called Cultural Expeditions, which organizes such trips. In your letter: Explain why you want to do the voluntary work. State what your skills and experience are. Indicate where you would like to volunteer and for how long. Begin your letter as follows: Dear Sir / Madam

Dear Sir, I am writing
this
letter to express my interest in trips organised by your company to developing countries to provide voluntary work.
To begin
with, what makes me think of doing
such
unpaid work ? Actually, I was planning to visit India for a couple of months before applying for a job in
this
field in the UK. Surprisingly, I just read about your company online
last
night and found it interesting.
Therefore
, I decided why not to work as a volunteer in India
along with
trips to some famous places. I have recently completed my bachelor's in English Literature
last
month at Oxford University here in the UK. I have great communication skills in written and verbal form.
Moreover
, I already had experience working as a volunteer at the city centre library as an English tutor where I taught these skills to college students to perform better in academics. Talking about the place where I would like to provide
such
facilities is not quite decided yet but would prefer the northern part of India as
according to
my research, there are so many backwards regions where students usually couldn't able to learn a foreign language ( English) as schools in
such
areas emphasize on languages spoken by Indian
such
as Punjabi or Hindi. I look forward to hearing from you and please let me know if you require any
further
information, Yours faithfully, Prabh

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
