Write a letter to the retailer to complain. In the letter: - Explain why you are unhappy - Request a refund - Make arrangements to return the damaged item

Dear Sir, A DISSATISFACTION REPORT I am writing to let you know that I am highly dissatisfied with my
last
purchase from your company. It was on Saturday, the 4th day of March 2023 at about 10am that I purchased a top loader washing machine from your sales outlet situated at Lasbret Avenue, Coka. The machine was installed on the evening of the same day because I had a lot of laundry to do. The first two minutes into the washing cycle, I started hearing a very unusual sound; followed by the wetting of the wash areas which was an indication that there was
also
a leakage fault. I stopped the machine at that instance and contacted the technician who installed it, hoping it was an an installation process error.
However
, the workman returned to my apartment within two hours, cross-checked the installation processes and confirmed the job was thoroughly done. I am highly dissatisfied with
this
experience and request an outright refund of the amount I spent on that purchase which is eighty five thousand naira, as soon as possible. I have made an arrangement with a dispatcher to return the product to your showroom , he will contact you very soon. Below is my account details for the refund: Bank: Access bank Account name: Osbert Ada Account number: 00987532178 Thank you in anticipation of your soon favourable response. Yours faithfully, Osbert Ada

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
