Some people think students should study the science of food and how to prepare it. Others think that school time should be used in learning important subjects. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people argue that the
science
behind
food
should be learned as a compulsory subject in higher education for
students
, as how to be well-prepared for cooking processes,
while
another school of thought holds that
students
should allocate their time to core
subjects
. In
this
essay, I am going to elucidate both viewpoints, before clarifying my own opinion. On the one hand, it is understandable why studying
food
science
has received widespread endorsement. One major rationale is that it can assist
students
to stay healthier.
This
can be attributed to the fact that the student can have a chance to have a deeper insight into the
science
behind
food
to prevent themselves from being infected by many-related diseases.
For instance
, many
students
study far from home, they cannot have the ability to manage cooking matters for themselves. If the
students
are studied about
food
science
, they will not worry about
food
poisoning.
Additionally
, studying the
science
of
food
is another opportunity for them to improve their own soft skills.
This
is because
this
platform is the key to unlocking their full potential and cultivating many good virtues. Despite the aforementioned benefits, concerns regarding whether
students
should spend their time on crucial
subjects
seem more justifiable.
This
can be attributed to the fact that there are so many educational institutions that place a heavy emphasis on the performance of these
subjects
.
In addition
, academic
subjects
such
as English, Math, or Literature play a vital role in upcoming
students
’ careers,
due to
the fact they can provide them with the foundational knowledge which assists them efficiently in an upcoming working environment.
Therefore
, if the
students
concentrate on core
subjects
, they will have an opportunity to get a higher chance of landing a well-paid job in the future. In conclusion,
while
there is no denying that the
science
behind
food
should be learned as a compulsory subject in higher education for
students
offers substantial benefits, I believe it will be imprudent to discount the importance of concentrating on the core
subjects
for
students
.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
