Dear Sir, The purpose of writing
this
letter is to register a complaint regarding my stay at the hotel where you organised the IT conference
last
week. The meeting lasted for three days when we were expected to get involved in team-building activities. One activity required us to play a team sport on the hotel grounds.
However
, the grounds were extremely littered with the remains of a party held there the previous night. Before we could start our activity we wasted our time getting the area cleared and
as a result
lost the competition.
Additionally
, our team experienced unhygienic surroundings and breathing problems during
this
time.
Hence
, I request you to please anticipate the space requirements for meetings in the future and ensure that the appropriate conditions are provided. Hoping to receive a positive response. Yours sincerely, Kamal Singh

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
