on online platforms in Canada in the years 2005 and 2010.
Overall
, in 2005 , the ratio of clothing
sales
was the highest as compared to other sectors.
While
, after five years demand for electronic
items
increased.
However
, clothing
sales
fell and reached more than half.
To begin
with, the
sales
of clothing were 38% which was the highest percentage of
sales
in the online market in 2005 .
Whereas
, in 2010 the ratio decreased and reached 22%.
Moreover
, home and kitchen
items
were the second highest positions with 29%.
While
the figure showed that home and kitchen
items
sold were only 11% which was the lowest percentage of
sales
as compared to other retail sectors in 2010.
However
, the percentage of online
sales
in electric appliances was 19% in 2005.
While
it increased drastically to 25% and reached 45% of the total .
In addition
, the
sales
of groceries were 14% and 22% in the years 2005 and 2010 respectively.
