Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to inform you about a missed parcel which was scheduled to arrive two weeks ago. I sent a package from Kyiv two months ago, and a postman gave me a receipt with the tracking number. As I can see from the website, my papers were received by Canadian customs in Toronto.
However
, for the
last
,month the status of the shipment has not changed. There were about twenty pages of documents inside an orange package.
Also
, three marks with pictures of different ships were glued in the upper-right corner.
Additionally
, the name of the receiver is John Smith. I would be grateful if you could contact the customs office to get any information about the shipment. In case more details are needed from my side, please contact me any time. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Faithfully yours, James Bond

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
