You successfully passed a job interview. You are expected to start on November 15, but you will not be available on that date. Task: Write a letter to your new boss, explaining your situation, expressing your concern and suggesting a solution.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
letter with regard to the vacant position of
Quality
Manager in our company. I would like to consider the
quality
manager post in our company because I have been working in the same department as a
quality
engineer for 5 years.
Furthermore
, I can assure you that I have very extensive knowledge in
this
field.
In addition
, as I have been working on
this
project for 2 years, I clearly know the requirements of the client, including the procedure for documentation, which is one of the biggest advantages that I have in completing
this
project. Before applying, I have some questions regarding the other requirements of
this
position. 1. Do I need to complete any specific certifications like ISO 9001:2015 and Six Sigma? 2. How many years of experience are required to grab
this
opportunity? 3. Do I need to get any
quality
licences from the local government body? I would be grateful if you could help me decide whether to apply for
this
job. I look forward to receiving your response. Yours faithfully, Sinan Y

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
