The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The plans make a comparison between the actual structure of Southwest Airport and how it will be next year after the planned redevelopment.
Overall
, the airport will be enlarged and more facilities are expected
such
as a Skytrain to simplify access to the
gates
. Presently, few amenities are provided only to people who start their voyage. More specifically, there is only a check-in and a cafe actually.
On the other hand
, the arrivals have no services at all even an ATM or car rental service to people who would like to move freely in the city.
Moreover
, merely eight are the
gates
available to passengers: those are reachable by a walkway. As illustrated in the second layout, numerous differences have been planned to guarantee more comfort to clients.
In particular
, a new cafe will be built in the arrivals area too
in addition
to the ATM and car hire service. Regarding the unused area before the
gates
, it will be designated for shops.
Furthermore
, the number of
gates
will be increased from 8 to 18 and the voyagers will use Skytrains to arrive at the departure gate.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
